More than 1,200 specially abled people from about 30 non-government organisations from the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana performed yoga asanas on World Yoga Day. The 10th International Yoga Day celebrations took off in the morning after over 1,200 specially abled people arrived at the event with enthusiasm. The NIEPID made arrangements for all the PwDs and for their escorts to perform the yogasanas comfortably.
Yoga mats and T-shirts were provided to all the participants. The 10th International Day of Yoga--Yoga for Self and Society was celebrated at NIEPID (National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) (Divyangjan), under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, at its premises located at Manovikasnagar, Bowenpally, Secunderabad. These events witnessed active participation from dignitaries, faculty members, students, and yoga enthusiasts.
