Goalkeeper Raffaele Di Gennaro is grateful to have received his first ever appearance for Inter Milan against Hellas Verona. Di Gennaro, who came through the youth ranks at Inter, made his first ever appearance for the club this evening.

All season long, the Italian has been Inter’s third-choice keeper. The Nerazzurri brought Di Gennaro back last summer, as part of an overhaul of the goalkeeping position. Di Gennaro was hardly ever expected to play regularly for Inter.



But given his longstanding connection to the club, the 30-year-old has brought some continuity and stability to the dressing room. That kind of influence may not be immediately evident on the pitch. But it has played an important role in strengthening the group.
