Peter, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on May 24, 2024 at the age of 84. Peter was born May 15, 1940 in Jiangsu, China to Shen Hsia-Fei and Chu Chun Po. He grew up in Taiwan in an incredibly close-knit and loving family of nine brothers and sisters.
He graduated from the University of Michigan, Doctor of Philosophy, 1971, Aerospace Engineering. He first came to California where he started at Northrop Grumman Aircraft company and later joined and retired from Hughes Aircraft. He ended a distinguished career at Lockheed Martin where he contributed to the Airborne Laser Program.
Peter married the love of his life, Lillette Barbara Shen at St. Mary Student Parish Catholic Church, Ann Arbor, 1969. Together they built a beautiful family and life.
He is missed by his loving wife and children, Paul (Christina), Julie and Jennifer (Benjamin). His memory will live on with his four treasured grandchildren, Kara, Matthew, Lily and Bibi. Peter was an avid photographer and collector of cameras.
His love for cars, motorcycles and playing bridge weekly with his wife filled his days, and recently he spent his free time chasing around his youngest granddaughter. Peter was known for his commitment to his family. His life was a testament to hard work and love, and he will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom and ability to lead everyone in the right direction.
Services will be held at Saint John Fisher Catholic Church, 5448 Cre.
