Some of them have been here not much longer than me and are doing very well. So you are always comparing yourself to them. In Kenya it is only people who have good connections who do well.
If you don’t have those connections, life will be hard. My family didn’t have those connections, so they sent me to Perth to study. I also have a cousin who has been here for a long time, so that has been helpful.
I like Perth — it’s a very nice place — but I do miss Kenya. It is more relaxed there. On the road nobody really follows the rules like they do here.
And I miss the weather in Africa. I hate winter. The next few months are going to kill me.
