A SAVVY woman has revealed the clever way she extended her fence for more privacy without forking out for new panels. Maggie, an avid gardener and DIY whizz took to social media to show off the transformation. In the clips she revealed her neighbours' were moving so they were happy for her to have free reign over the fence.
"Let's add some privacy to our garden ," Maggie wrote. She then showed all of the items she used to create her taller fence which included a trellis, wood paint and some climber plants . The DIY whizz first set about painting the trellis which she got from a local garden centre.
But you can also pick up similar trellis designs for £14 from Homebase. After the paint had dried, she then cut them to shape to fit snug again the top of her garden fence and used large screws to drill them in place. She used eight screws in total to keep the trellis secure and make sure it didn't get damaged in windy conditions.
Once it was secured, she planned to take her climber plants and weave them into the wood to create some extra privacy. She captioned the post: "We are making our fence bit taller. Why? "The house next door will go on the market this year and you never know who moves in! "Now you can easily see everything while walking around both gardens.
.. but with these panels and my lovely Clematis Montana, it should look beautiful and add more privacy.
