As she threw her arms into the air and laughed the kind of evil cackle I plan on replicating once the election results are in, Kym Marsh looked deliciously devilish when I saw her in Birmingham last night (Tuesday, July 2). With her sharp-heeled boots, extravagantly designed geometric outfit and up-do perfectly set, she was up to no good. I loved it.

The former Corrie star and Hear'Say singer is in town to hunt down puppies and flay them alive. And oh, I should mention, she's playing the role of Cruella De Vil in 101 Dalmatians at the Alexandra Theatre . I've met Kym before, the last time she was in town hosting the Pride of Birmingham awards.



She was very, very sweet and I was wondering how someone so warmly northern and so beautiful could pull off such an iconic baddie. But Kym was doing such a good job of embodying Cruella that at one point, I had to put my glasses on to check it was really her.

This stage-version of 101 Dalmatians is not really like the Disney film I'm so familiar with and honestly, it was better for it in many ways.
