SETTING spray doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, according to a woman who makes it herself. She said her makeup DIY requires just three ingredients and costs less than $22. Redditor Gmwrnr shared her recipe in a comment on the social media platform.

She explained that the products that can be easily obtained at health stores or online. The DIYer said her setting spray doesn't require too much of the ingredients. The Redditor listed how she creates the beauty staple.



"Glycerin you can find at any health food stores, and some grocery stores," she said of her first ingredient. Now Solutions Glycerin is sold for $5.80 on Amazon.

The Redditor shared an important detail when DIYing beauty products. "No matter which one you make you need a preservative," she said. "I use Optiphen Plus.

"Optiphen Plus will have to be ordered, though. I got mine from LotionCrafters," she added. Optiphen Plus is available for $8.

45 from Lotion Crafter and $9.99 from Amazon . "You only need a drop of it so it'll last forever," she noted.

"Also, don't try to mix oil and water like many of the [setting spray] recipes do. "You need an emulsifier to do that. "I just do water, rosewater, glycerin, [and] Optiphen Plus.

I also store it in the fridge since a bottle lasts me so long." A bottle of Cortas Rose Flower Water retails for $7 on Amazon. "This is comparable to MAC Fix+.

It won't prolong the wear of makeup, but it will get rid of the powdery look," she explained. Other Redditors gave their two cents .
