CHOOSING a name for your child is no easy feat and should be well thought out. One woman was left regretting her baby's name after letting her husband decide. In a Reddit post , user Transportbackto explained her issue with her one-year-old daughter's name.

She revealed that her child's name has even been the butt of family jokes. "It’s just never felt like her name to me," the mother of one explained. She shared that she and her husband debated on what to name their daughter throughout the pregnancy.

"My partner and I could never agree on a name and finally I was so stressed over it I let him name her," she wrote. "[I] literally just told him 'I give up, just pick one' and I would be lying if I said I didn’t regret it." The original poster named some of her top picks for her daughter's name.

"Names I loved, in no particular order, were Juliet, Diana, Beatrix (Trixie), Esmeralda (Esme), and Mercy," she said. She revealed that her husband was not a fan of her choices, saying he "hated them all." Instead, he chose a rather unique name for their daughter that the Reddit user said she wasn't sold on.

"He named her Selma. Now I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it," she wrote. She explained that her partner is Swedish while she is American and that they live together in Europe.

"All of my family made some kind of civil rights joke and I’ve had several people ask me if her middle name was Alabama," she said. The mom revealed she loves her daughter's middle name and would ha.
