A REGRETFUL parent has opened up about her name remorse for her two-month-old daughter. Although she thought it was a good idea to draw inspiration from her own name (because, like mother, like daughter), two months later, her feelings about the name soured. 1 A mom opened up about her regrets toward her daughter's name (Stock photo) Credit: Getty The mom shared the baby name in a post on a What to Expect forum.
"Has anyone regretted the name you chose for your child? What did you do to make yourself feel better? Did the feeling of regret subside over time?" she asked. The parent explained that she had initially chosen the name based on her own name, as she thought it would be cute if her daughter's name matched hers. "For context, my name is Gina Marie, and I named my daughter Gianna Rose," she said.
"I’ve always thought it was a beautiful name, but now that she’s here, I’m starting to regret my choice. "I’m not sure if it’s cute that it’s complimentary to my name or if it’s silly and unusual. "I usually just refer to her as 'baby,' I rarely refer to her by her name because I feel strange saying it out loud.
" Despite the remorse, she explained that a name change wasn't on the table.
