Taylor Swift’s fan base has grown steadily throughout the years, from her start as a country music teen sensation to global popstar. Thousands of Irish fans will see her in Dublin this June — and we have spoken to one who is going to see Taylor in concert nine years after she met her in person. Rebecca Fisher from Galway has been listening to Taylor since she was a young teen.
“The first time I came across her, I was 13. I was visiting family in England. I stayed up watching the music channels with loads of my cousins.
The Love Story music video came on the show, it was a new release from the US and it hadn’t blown up yet.” Rebecca was completely mesmerised by Taylor and asked one of her cousins to find her on iTunes. “I listened to her on my cousin’s iPod on the ferry back to Ireland,” Rebecca says.
