Nicola Jayne Johnson has shared her favourite photographs and told us how she fell in love with taking photographs with a camera. Nicola, who lives in Prenton, loves taking pictures in nature and of sunrises and sunsets and she tells us which BBC programme she’d love to take photographs for. Wirral Globe Camera Club member Nicola Jayne Johnson When and why did you take up photography? I started taking photos on my phone when out on long walks with my beagles. Then just before lockdown, my boyfriend bought me a Nikon b500 camera and I absolutely fell in love with pictures through a camera. I suffer with my mental health at times - anxiety and depression - and this clears my headspace.

It has helped me so much. Colourful skies at Leasowe bay What do you love about taking pictures? I love nature - things that you spot that you may never see again. It makes you stop, when out walking, and take in the natural beauty that can often be unseen.

I love the joy it brings to others too when I share my photos on social media. I would have to say the beach. Leasowe Bay and West Kirby being two of my favourite places to go.
