Becoming a new parent is no easy task. As any parent will tell you, welcoming a new baby into the world can leave you exhausted and definitely scramble your head. But one new mum has defended the 10-word phrase she said to her daughter just moments after she was born - even though it left her fiancé seething.

The mum claimed she gave birth to her first child a few weeks ago, and when she held her for the first time, she began crying over how "beautiful" her little girl was. She then uttered a simple phrase that she believed was perfectly innocent, but which ended up "hurting" her partner. She said: "I didn't realise I could love a person this much.



" The mum posted on Reddit to explain that her own mum, who was in the delivery room at the time, told her "that feeling never goes away", leading to the pair sharing a "really special moment". However, her partner was less impressed by her comments, as he later told her he was "hurt" by what she said. She wrote: "[He said] me saying that made it seem like I loved our daughter more than him.

I just gave him an 'are you f***ing serious' look and he dropped it, but yesterday he brought it up again. "I told him that honestly, yes, I love and cherish our daughter and have never experienced this kind of love for another human being. He said most 'normal people' would agree with him that it's a hurtful comment and would take offence to it due to the implication.
