I had a full face of make-up, acrylic nails and eyelash extensions for my C-section - people were flabbergasted but I wanted to look nice in the birth photos Bromley Elford had her eyelashes and nails re-done days before her C-section READ MORE: I get shamed by other mothers for being naturally pretty with a good figure - they're just jealous because I don't need lip filler to look nice By Alice Wade Published: 09:56 BST, 9 July 2024 | Updated: 09:57 BST, 9 July 2024 e-mail View comments A mother said she left people 'flabbergasted' after she turned up for her C-section wearing a full face of make-up so she'd 'look good' when the baby arrived. Bromley Elford, 28, from Wantage in Oxfordshire, opted for a C-section for the birth of her second baby, after experiencing an 'awful' natural birth with her first child nine years ago. Knowing the exact time and date she would be giving birth, the 28-year-old said she woke up two hours before she needed to be at the hospital to apply a full face of makeup and straighten her hair.

The mother-of-two is never without a fresh set of nails of eyelash extensions, and wasn't going to let labour get in the way of looking her best. Bromley sported a new set of acrylics and false eyelashes for the birth of her second baby, having visited the salon days before she was booked in for her C-section.
