Temperatures on Monday and Tuesday are expected to reach the lower to mid 90’s, with “feels like” temperatures between 95-104 degrees across the state. Humidity will also be reaching extreme levels on those days, according to a press release form the governor's office. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Albany confirms Hochul’s report about excessive heat and humidity impacting eastern New York for the week.
“For Albany, Schenectady and other nearby areas today and tomorrow we’re expecting high temperatures reaching the lower 90’s, with elevated humidity and apparent ‘feels like’ temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s,” NWS Albany Forecaster Abbey Gant said. “Wednesday looks like it could be a little bit cooler, which is relative, with high temperatures reaching the upper 80’s and possibly grazing into the lower 90’s. Persistent high humidity and heat index values are still expected to be in the mid to upper 90’s through Wednesday.
” For those in Albany and surrounding areas, a bit of relief from the heat may be coming toward the end of the week. “After Wednesday things should cool off a bit. We have a cold front coming through to cool things off and dry the air conditions, so the humidity will likely not be as high for the remainder of the week.
