The Highland economy is a diverse one but regardless of the sector, businesses here face common challenges – how to reduce their impact on the region’s environment, renowned the world over for its beauty, and showing resilience by adapting to market and digital changes. At this year’s Highland Business Awards, efforts undertaken by local organisations to tackle both challenges are recognised with awards for positive environmental impact and resilience. The award for positive environmental impact will be presented to a business that takes responsible decisions to reduce its negative impact on the environment, actively promotes the benefits and brings about efficiencies in its operations.

Organisations are invited to nominate themselves or nominate another business. RI Cruden, Inverness is sponsoring the award which they won in 2023. Director, Callum Cruden, said: “We at RI Cruden are honoured to sponsor the positive environmental impact award at the 2024 Highland Business Awards.

Winning this award last year, along with the Highland business of the year, was a significant milestone for our company. “It underscored our commitment to sustainability and innovation. By sponsoring this award, we aim to celebrate and support other businesses making impactful strides towards a greener future.

” The winner of the award for resilience will be a business that has adapted its operations to overcome a short-term difficulty or challenge, enabling it to deliver on its objectives .
