The Hey Hey It's Saturday star suffered a harrowing battle with cancer and jaw removal surgery , but that didn't stop him from giving one last interview. In his usual comedic fashion, the former 3AW host appeared on the You Cannot Be Serious podcast, weeks before his death, to take a swipe at his fellow radio stars.

Host Sam, 78, called up the media veteran to playfully interrogate him about a post the presenter made slamming KIIS FM's controversial Kyle and Jackie O Show. However, John said he deleted the Facebook post he made criticising hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson for their X-rated Melbourne debut.
