AFTER a three-year absence away from the national senior team Wesley 'Wes' Harding is 'over the moon' following his inclusion in the Reggae Boyz squad for the upcoming Copa America tournament. "It's an amazing feeling and it's nice to be back. It has been a while, over two years, and I'm over the moon," Harding said after his selection.

The 27-year-old defender who has two international caps to his name, plies his trade in the English Football Championship for Milwall and shared that he was filled with excitement after getting the call from coach Hallgrimsson. "It was excitement straight away. It's being a long, gruelling time away watching from a distance so when he (Heimir Hallgrimsson) called me, I told all my family, so I'm just happy to be back," said Harding.

The Reggae Boyz will bow into action in the 2024 Copa America on June 22 against Concacaf rivals Mexico at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, with match time set for 8 p.m. Jamaica time.

Harding reflected on his two previous fixtures and explained that he enjoyed playing in those encounters which came against Serbia and Panama. He added that being familiar with a lot of players in the current set-up augurs well for the team's camaraderie. "The first time was beautiful as I remembered playing well.

The last time was against Panama which was long ago and that was good as well. I'm genuinely excited to be here and be around the squad. I know a lot of the players and I've played against them as well,".
