First launching in 2013 , the reality show follows talented amateur sewers compete to be named ‘Britain’s best home sewer’. It is presented by Kiell Smith-Bynoe and judged by Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

This week they were joined by special guest judge Priya Khanchandani, a curator and writer specialising in Southeast Asian culture who is also the head of curatorial and interpretation at the Design Museum, London . Like each episode, they were again tasked with three challenges , with the first seeing the sewers creating a Nehru jacket, a hip-length tailored coat for men or women. They were given just four hours to make the garment, compete with welt pockets, a closed collar, and a quintet of buttons.

However, the time didn’t seem to be enough for many, with some of the contestants heard exclaiming ‘oh no’ and ‘this is so overwhelming’ before even starting. As they got into the task, Suzy said the ‘4000 instructions’ made it clear they wouldn’t have an easy time ahead. When it came down to the final few minutes, many sewers were struggling, with Suzy worried she was about to present ‘the worst’ hem she’d ever made.

After being told they had five minutes left on the clock, many conceded they wouldn’t finish in time. Lo.
