A grandma who split up with her 37-year-old husband is now a scam hunter and has revealed a conman threatened to send her a bomb. Iris Jones, 83, from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, married Mohamed Ibrahim but says she was left thousands of pounds out of pocket by him. In a Facebook post written last week, she revealed she now hunts scam artists who fool women online.

A man who claimed to be from the American air force working in Yemen got in contact with Iris. She said: ‘He asked me to send him £2,740 and I asked him how do I send it over? Just to tease him – I like to taunt them now. ‘It wasn’t ‘hi honey’, or anything like that, when I asked him what his favourite food was I expected him to say hamburger, or hotdogs or popcorn – but it was rice.

‘I called him something I can’t share online – and then he said “give me your location, I’m going to bomb you – not a love bomb this time, a real bomb”. ‘There must be a conveyer belt in these places where there are all these scammers and gold diggers who have all these women lined up and they pass you from pillar to post. ‘They don’t think of you as a person – you’re just a name.

’ Since Iris has turned into a scam hunter she has offered tips as to how to spot scammers. She added: ‘Usually they send a very handsome picture of themselves, often working on an oil rig or in another country or in the army. ‘These pictures are not them – they are are pictures of genuine men and I think some of.
