A grandma was left bruised black and blue after she was attacked by a gang of youths in a sickening incident at a popular Brit holiday hotspot. Melanie Cuthbertson, 52, was awoken from a nap while sunbathing at the Calder Waterfall in Blantyre, a landmark in South Lanarkshire, Scotland , by a teenager stamping on her face. The grandma, from nearby Hamilton, said was with a group of friends from a wild water swimming group when she was descended on by the teen boy.

Melanie said she feared for her life and lost consciousness, preventing her from remembering the entire incident. She said: "The boy was wild-eyed and definitely the ring leader. They were all hitting me but he was directly over me and punching and stamping on my head.

"I was terrified. I was in fear for my life because I didn’t know when they were going to stop. I don’t remember too much else because I passed out and lost consciousness.
