Former Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice returned to the stage alongside Anton du Beke and looked happier than ever. Giovanni, 33, left the BBC show amid allegations made against him by a number of his former dance partners who accused him of being "abusive" during training sessions. The professional dancer has always maintained his innocence against claims made by the Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington, Laura Whitmore and another celebrity who has remained anonymous.
Putting the past behind him, Giovanni resumed his role as a dancer with his live tour alongside Anton. The pair wore matching white and black suits and Giovanni addressed the audience saying: "It's nice to be back." Refusing to mention Strictly while on stage, he added: "This is the most beautiful thing you know I am alright.
I am alright." The dancing duo were joined on stage by another pro dancer Lauren Oakley, who informed the audience that Giovanni was "cheeky" and made her "laugh lots." Speaking to the MailOnline after the show, one fan said: "Giovanni looked so happy, he didn't stop smiling but you couldn't help but think he was a little bit subdued.
Usually he would reference Strictly, he loved the show so I suppose that would be normal but this time it was like it didn't exist." When the allegations made against him by Amanda first surfaced, she confirmed she dropped out of the series last year, citing personal reasons. But she later explained that she was diagnosed with mild PTSD from her time .
