Tributes have been flooding in for the "remarkable" rider Georgie Campbell, who tragically passed away following an incident at a Devon equestrian event. Georgie was attended to by medical professionals immediately after a fall at a fence but, sadly, could not be saved. The 36-year-old competed on her horse Global Quest at the CC14*-S event in Devon.

The accident occurred at a log into the water at fence 5b, known as the Symonds and Sampson splash. Georgie had initially made her mark as a top-level showing rider before transitioning to eventing. She proudly represented Great Britain on numerous occasions in Nations Cup teams and participated in several five-star events, which represent the pinnacle of eventing.

The equestrian community and fans took to her Instagram page to express their grief and extend their sympathies following the heartbreaking news. One comment read: "Rip Georgie you were an incredible woman and rider my love Xx my thoughts are with your family and friends," while another shared: "RIP Georgie, an amazing woman and an inspiration to us all.

" Another post expressed: "RIP Georgie, a remarkable rider with so much passion for the sport. She will be missed," and one more added to the outpouring of emotion: "RIP Georgie, taken far too soon doing something you love. My thoughts are with your family and friend.
