George Shuttleworth’s (Tony Maudsley) day went from bad to worse in recent Coronation Street scenes, when a worrying letter ruined his chance of organising a profitable funeral. In tonight’s (June 7) episode, George and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) were approached by the widow of a wealthy businessman, and they were sure that organising his funeral would be a big lift for the business. As they sat down with the woman, things couldn’t have gone better, with George’s rendition of the company’s jingle winning her over entirely.

By the time she had left, Shuttleworth’s was on track to make a huge profit, even if they’d have to go out of their way to accomplish some of her requests.
