Ruth Jones has spilled the beans on the finale, revealing that she and James Corden have been penning the script since September last year to ensure it's top-notch. Chatting on the Wondery podcast 'Brydon &', alongside her mate and co-star Rob Brydon, Ruth opened up about the frustration over the leaked news of the episode, lamenting how they couldn't confirm the special was definitely happening back in February.
But come Day, viewers are in for a treat with what Ruth, 57, promises will be a "finished story". She confessed: "I was very sad that it got leaked. James and I had been writing since September, which is always the case with us.

She added: "So, when we felt it was in good enough shape, that's when we contacted the BBC. There was all this stuff about and a bidding war.
.. absolute rubbish, you just go, where did this come from? And so, once we agreed with the BBC we were going to do it, and obviously they were very happy about it because it's finishing a story and this will be the finale.
", reports . "But then there's a whole process and you can't announce it be.
