Quirky duck races and a unique egg boat race will be among events taking place to celebrate the 80th anniversary of a Suffolk town's carnival. Further details have been announced for the '80's themed' Aldeburgh Carnival, which will be held from Saturday, August 17 until Monday, August 19. Based on the theme of 'Anything 80,' organisers have promised a weekend of fun, which will include a display of giant illuminated kites on the Saturday evening, music on the beach, a Punch and Judy show and a 10k run.

Spectators will also be able to see the new Aldeburgh Lifeboat on carnival day, August 19, as part of a training exercise, followed by a ten minute formation flypast over the sea. In the afternoon on the same day, there will be a Waiters' Race, the carnival procession, dancing in the street, a magic lantern procession and a firework display to close the carnival.
