“It’s relaxing, fun, and good for both physical and mental health. “The best part is that yoga is an exercise for people of all ages so I encourage both young and old to participate and enjoy our beautiful beachfront.” Participants must bring a yoga mat or towel and arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
The yoga sessions will take place in Midland Beach, behind Turtle Circle, near Father Capodanno and Jefferson Avenue. The yoga sessions will be led by Karen Torrone of 5 Boro Power Yoga. The program initally began after Superstorm Sandy in 2012 to meet the needs of borough residents who were dealing with excessive stress.
This free event will give Staten Island residents an opportunity to focus on their health and wellness while enjoying the beautiful views on Midland Beach. The classes are open to all, including beginners.
