The Montenotte Hotel is once again celebrating Irish art and culture with its famous Victorian sunken gardens playing host to an exclusive collection of sculptures - and you can see it all for free this summer. Now in its sixth year, the Kildare Gallery exhibition features a collection of 40 different sculptures by 22 artists from Ireland and abroad, all under the theme of ‘Take Your Imagination on a Journey of Wonder’. Sculptors whose works will be displayed include Dawn Conn, Merce Canadell, Simon Hayes, Petr Holecek and Valentin Bostan.

As well as the sculptures themselves the arrangement integrates the beautiful plants and flowers in the gardens, creating an immersive journey for visitors. The sculptures are available for purchase and incorporate many materials from metals like bronze, copper, and steel, to more unusual choices like bog oak, glass, and ceramics. This can all be seen in a truly unique setting, as the Montenotte boasts Ireland's one and only Victorian Sunken Garden.

With a heritage spanning over 120 years and a recent restoration earning them the title of Best Landscaped City Hotel in Ireland, it's never been a better time to check out the historic grounds. The exhibition was unveiled on Thursday by Lord Mayor Kieran McCarthy and will be open daily from 10 am, so visitors can pop in for free and see how the expansive gardens have been transformed into a stunning outdoor art gallery. The exhibition wraps up in mid-August.
