We celebrate the 248th birthday of the United States this week. Parades, barbecues, patriotic concerts, and, of course, fireworks shows are scheduled all over the region. Check out our list of events here or check out your community’s Facebook pages for more.

The Syracuse Mets will be celebrating the occasion with three nights of fireworks from Monday to Wednesday. Carnival Rides and Treats is holding a three-day Family Fun Carnival at Vernon Downs from Thursday to Saturday, with rides, Fair food, and two nights of fireworks. Away from the Independence Day revelry, Party in the Square returns to Clinton Square on Friday night with music and food, the second annual Biscoland music festival returns to LaFayette, and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s penguins welcomes everyone to their “Penguin Palooza.

com The Syracuse Mets get the Fourth of July week started with a bang with three consecutive nights of fireworks at NBT Bank Stadium. Opponents each night will be the Worcester Red Sox. Monday is a “Dollar Monday” and the first 1,000 guests, 21 and over, will get a Saranac Pint Glass.

Tuesday is “Taco Tuesday.” Both games start at 6:35 p.m.
