A passionate fossil hunter has shared his latest discovery—a Tyrannosaurus rex tooth that he found while out exploring. Zach Craske made the find while spending a few days fossil hunting at the Hell Creek Formation in Dawson County, a rock formation where the remains of many animals—including dinosaurs—have been unearthed. "I spent a couple of days down in Dawson County as fossil hunting is a great passion of mine," Craske told .
During his hunt, he made the incredible discovery. Equipped with essential tools such as a rock pick, chisel, dental tools for delicate work, and brushes, Craske meticulously uncovered the tooth. "I found this slightly exposed from the sediment and just went from there and uncovered this beautiful tooth," he explained.
The Hell Creek Formation, known for its rich deposits from the late Cretaceous period, has yielded numerous significant finds over the years. Craske's discovery adds to this, with the tooth confirmed to him by an expert as belonging to a T. rex, the only tyrannosaurid that was in that area.
