On Thursday, a ceremony took place where the official transfer of the former DOW building was signed. This was a significant event attended by various ministers from the Evelyn Wever-Croes II Cabinet. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes began by saying that Thursday was a great day because the project to remodel this historic building was about to begin.
It is a beautiful building with a lot of historical value, which will be restored to its monumental glory. The APA and ATA offices will also be moved to this building, which will be completely developed into a ‘Visitor Inspiration Center’ where all visitors can go, see, and be inspired by Aruba’s history. The Prime Minister emphasized that remodeling the building into a gem in the city center demonstrates that Aruba is recovering and becoming stronger and more resilient after the pandemic.
The Prime Minister also congratulated her colleague, Dangui Oduber, and expressed her gratitude. Because this is a building that had fallen into disrepair and was abandoned. Now it will be remodeled and brought back to its glory so that future generations can enjoy it.
It is not just a renovation; it is a signal to the community. A legacy for the community because if you do not know the history, you do not know the future. This is something very significant because it symbolizes Aruba’s recovery.
Little by little, Aruba’s problems are being solved. For example, Parliament’s approval of the RWZI Law, and the inauguration of the Mar.
