Rapper Julio Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, died in a shooting outside a Tampa-area hotel early Sunday morning, his attorney Lewis Fusco confirmed. Jones was 26-years-old when he died. Jones, an emerging artist from Florida , was in town celebrating his birthday.

Tampa Police reported that an incident occurred in the hotel parking lot just before 5 a.m.
ET. While they believe Jones was the victim, official confirmation is pending from the Medical Examiner's Office. Three others were also shot during the incident and are expected to recover.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the shooting. Jones gained recognition in 2018 with his debut album 6toven. His most recent album, Resurrection, was released in April.
