ANDRAYA Carter is cementing herself as one of the best broadcasters in the business after a strong week on First Take. Carter is keeping busy with the NBA Finals underway and the WNBA season chugging along, and her insight is extremely valuable on ESPN. Carter really broke onto the scene during the women's March Madness tournament this year where she widely covered Caitlin Clark.
She was also a major voice during the WNBA Draft in April. Carter started her career as a women's basketball player at the University of Tennessee, but had multiple brutal injuries during her career. When she was injured, Carter formed a bond with NBC Sports host Maria Taylor.
That friendship helped her get into broadcasting, and Carter quickly rose through the ranks. Her first accomplishment was becoming ESPN's first woman with a full-time position on the basketball pregame show College GameDay. Carter now works in multiple different sports in both the studio and on the sideline after signing a multi-year extension with ESPN.
