A plus-sized Miss Alabama winner has warned online trolls about the damage their harsh words can do after she became the target of negative comments over her appearance. Sara Milliken, 23, clinched the top spot in Alabama's National American Miss - dubbed a "pageant for today's girl" - sparking quite the debate across social media platforms. Hailing from Atmore, a small town near the Florida border, Sara works as a cosmetologist and makeup artist.
According to her Pageant Planet profile, she also hosts a podcast called Girls Gotta Glow. Sara first entered the National American Miss (NAM) pageant at 15 but didn't place in the Junior Teen division. She tried again the next year in the Teen competition without success, an experience she described as "humiliating".
However, her persistence paid off when she returned in May 2024 and not only placed but won the entire pageant.
