Watch the trailer for The Jetty BBC's new gripping thriller, The Jetty, features Jenna Coleman of Doctor Who fame as the determined Detective Ember Manning. Dubbed by Cat Jones its creator and executive producer as "thrilling, exciting, propulsive and intriguing," this show is set to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. In a picturesque Lancashire lake town ravaged by a devastating blaze, viewers encounter Detective Manning grappling with the interlinked mysteries of an arson, a historic missing person case, scrutinised by a podcast journalist, and an illicit relationship between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
Coleman delved into the symbolism behind the series' setting, commenting: "There's a really interesting visual theme across the series of reflections and mirrors, which reflects the fact that so much of Ember's journey is being forced to look inward. So much of the show is about water and echoes, memories and reflection. The themes of the show are really echoed by the setting of the lake.
" Co-star Archie Renaux, who portrays Hitch, an up-and-coming detective alongside Manning, shared his insights on the location, he said: "I think that the scenic lake town makes it the perfect place for this story, because it's beautiful but there's also a sense of mystery and elusiveness to it that's quite unnerving. The setting mirrors Ember's relationship with her past." BBC The Jetty's Jenna Coleman as Ember (Image: BBC/Firebird Pictures/Ben Blackall) READ MORE;.
