The federal government has reiterated its commitment to the preservation and promotion of the country’s diverse and rich natural heritage and wildlife. This renewed dedication is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This commitment was given by the Minister of State for Environment Dr Iziaq Salako during the inauguration of an Inter-ministerial Committee to pro- mote Nigeria’s iconic wildlife and land- scape in all the major airports across the country.
According to Minister of State, “Nigeria is home to diverse and unique Wildlife, hence the initiative is intended to safeguard her biodiversity and boost the country’s famed tourism resources to the benefit of national pride and improved revenue generation for national development.” The expressed appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Aviation and the Wild Africa Fund (WAF), a conservation support organization, for the collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Environment towards the attainment of this goal. He charged the committee to work tirelessly to achieve the task of promoting a beautiful Nigeria through the country’s wildlife in the airports.
