Members of the public can expect a change in scenery at the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024 as the traditional format of public speaking will be replaced by a new format known as “the presentation show”. Hibiscus standing committee chairman Opetaia Ravai said the brand-new format would be unveiled at this year’s festival, which was pegged to be a spectacular evening that showcased elegance, eloquence, and Fiji’s rich cultural heritage. “Unlike previous years, the focus will be on a polished and sophisticated presentation that reflects the contestants’ dedication and the festival’s commitment to cultural enrichment,” said Mr Ravai.
“This is not just a beauty pageant; it’s a celebration of our heritage and the grace of our contestants.” Mr Ravai said the new format would bring a touch of international flair to the festival. Creative director Andhy Blake reassured members of the public that the Miss Hibiscus Festival platform would be infused with the elegance and grandeur of global pageantry.
“This show is a departure from the traditional ‘Question and Answer’ format that has been televised for the past 16 years. Instead, it will be a stunning production that elevates the pageant to new heights,” he said. The Miss Hibiscus Festival will begin on September 4, 2024, at the Suva Civic Centre, and only a limited number of 450 tickets will be available at the Fiji Showcase this Friday.
