ATTLEBORO -- Bishop Feehan High School is mourning the loss of one of its students. James Dias of Rehoboth, a member of the Class of 2027, died June 22 “after a long and courageous battle with cancer,” the school announced in an email. He was 16.

“He was a brave and positive young man with a warm spirit,” Tim Sullivan, Feehan’s president, said. “He missed a lot of school these past two years as he fought so very hard, but every day he was able to come in was a better day for Bishop Feehan.” “James was an immensely proud Feehan student and will always be a Shamrock,” Sullivan added.



Dias was an accomplished baseball and soccer player and had a passion for technology and gaming. He built two gaming computers, the second of which was his final accomplishment completed during the last week of his life. “Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet James knew him as a kind and gentle soul with a beautiful smile,” his obituary reads.

“Although taken from this earth too soon, the love and joy he brought into the world made a huge impact on all those he encountered, and he approached all things, including his illness, with grace and fearlessness. He set an example for everyone around him by maintaining a positive outlook on life through even the worst of circumstances. Full of courage and optimism, James was a patient, thoughtful, and caring person.
