FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ winless run in the TNM Super League continued Sunday following a 1-1 stalemate against rookies Creck Sporting Club at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe. The draw means Bullets have failed to collect maximum points in three consecutive matches, having lost 1-0 to leaders Silver Strikers and goal-less stalemate against Moyale Barracks. This is Bullets’ sixth draw of the campaign, having won only three matches and suffering one loss in 10 matches.
Following the draw, fifth-placed Bullets have a huge mountain to climb in the title race as they are 10 points behind Silver, who are in action against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon. The People’s Team has 15 points from 10 matches whereas Silver have 25 points from nine matches. Bullets were hoping to collect maximum points but they were frustrated by a well drilled Creck side.
After a barren first half in which both teams had few chances but were wasteful, Patrick Mwaungulu broke the deadlock in the 59th minute of the match. The talented midfielder volleyed in a rebound after a Creck defender cleared off the line Babatunde Adepoju’s initial shot. It was a beauty which sent Bullets fans into ecstasy.
However, the lead was short lived as substitute Gift Kadawati, who replaced Babangida Ishaya, pulled level in the 64th minute. Both teams tried hard to search for a winner but it never came. In a post-match interview, Creck Coach Macdonald Mtetemera praised his troops for the draw.
“A draw is a fair.
