Mr Morrow was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Rathfriland in the early hours of Saturday morning. Another teenager was seriously injured. The 17-year-old was a well-known stock car racer and described as one of the most talented drivers on the scene.
. Before the service at Rathfriland Presbyerian Church, stock cars belonging to the teenager led his funeral precession. A tribute penned by his mother and father, Andrew and Jill, and sister Amy, was read out at the funeral.
"Our Jack the Lad - well, where do we begin? Such a short life but so much accomplished in those 17 years,” the tribute read. “From he arrived on the first of May, 2007 he has been our pride and joy from those big blue eyes to that beautiful smile that would just light up any room. "His dad’s sidekick and best friend and, as Amy would tell you, mummy’s wee soldier and he was the best big brother Amy could have had.
Typical brother and sister relationship teasing and tormenting each other but best friends always.” Jack’s family said it was at stock car racing where he “really excelled and made us proud”, winning numerous championships over the year. “Having gone to watch Ivan Elliott race he caught the bug and his dad and Ally built him his first Ninja Kart.
There was never any question as to what his race number would be had to be the same as Ivan - 924,” they said. The tribute continued: “So much more we could say about our boy but for now fly high son, it was an honour to be you.
