The second in a series of exhibitions titled Cardamoms Forever – A Series of Exhibitions has been launched to celebrate and encourage greater efforts to protect the Cardamom Mountains, an area which is said to have Southeast Asia’s last untouched rainforest. Organised by Wildlife Alliance in collaboration with WILD-Phnom Penh, the event aims to raise awareness about the forest’s crucial role in climate regulation and air purification as well as the urgent threats it faces from fires and logging. Running from June 18 to July 21 at WILD-Phnom Penh, the exhibition is the second in a series, following a successful first event at Factory Phnom Penh in February in collaboration with Murals for Cambodia.
The exhibitions showcase the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife and dedicated conservation efforts of those working to protect this unique ecosystem. Suwanna Gauntlett, CEO of Wildlife Alliance, highlighted the exhibition’s purpose: “The aim of this exhibition is to spread awareness among people living in Cambodia and to preserve the Cardamom rainforest. The donations received through this event will directly go to the reforestation project.
We thank WILD for collaborating on such an important cause.” The exhibition also marks the launch of the Wild Foundation – an initiative by WILD to support other NGOs since opening Wild Siem Reap in 2018. WILD Co-founder Lorraine shared her excitement: “This beautiful exhibition will mark the ‘Wild Foundation’ launch.
