ERIC Trump has been called out after he posted a video of an energetic crowd that he claimed was supporting his father Donald. The clip showed dozens of people holding up their phones near barricades in New York City as a car made its way down the street. "It was a beautiful scene pulling back up to Trump Tower! Such unbelievable love," Eric wrote alongside the video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter on Monday.
The video was first posted by conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk ( @charliekirk11 ) on X, and reposted by Eric. People were immediately skeptical of the video with one user, David Cay Johnston, a Syracuse Law Lecturer, quote tweeting the post and squashing Eric's claim. "The video below is from President Biden's visit to Manhattan in April, but Trump's second son claims it's a crowd supporting his dad," Johnston wrote .
"The Trumps just make stuff up, even palpably false stuff. That's because they don't have anything to sell but lies." Users pointed out a major missing component in the video.
"Not one freaking flag anywhere. That's a dead giveaway that it's not Trump supporters," one pointed out. "Half that crowd would be decked out in flag attire and weird hats if it were," another noticed.
"No red hats or flags. So easy to tell it's not a Trump crowd," they wrote. Kirk's video ignited a fierce debate in the comments, with one user commenting, "That's Joe Biden's motorcade from his last NYC visit.
But what's facts to MAGA, righ.
