ENMORE Park Golf Club hosted its annual early morning 'Ladies Who Brunch' competition on Wednesday. The competition started with a shotgun start at 8.30am.

Nine teams of four took part in the competition, which was played on a beautiful sunny morning. This encouraged good golf, which was followed by an excellent brunch. With a superb score of 43 points, Jo Wyatt, Nannette Moore, Lorna Walker and Carolyne Warren claimed first place.

Two points behind in second place were Sue Hales, Irene Dickinson, Henriette Haydn and Carolyn Blackwood, who scored 41 points. After playing nine holes, the ladies enjoyed a delicious brunch prepared by the club's excellent catering staff. At the end of the morning, all teams were awarded a 'breakfast' themed prize, which ensured nobody went home empty-handed! The Enmore Royals travelled up the M5 on Friday and played a good-spirited game against their hosts at Weston--super-Mare Golf Club.

The Royals stand-out performance was Martyn Ackland and Ed Boyce, who took the first match 4+3. With Warren Binding and Neil Wicks playing in a very closely fought contest, the victory was taken on the 18th green by the away team. A half by the third group, Ben White and Angus Jones, meant a good start for the travelling Enmore team.

However, Weston took all three remaining matches to win the match 2.5 to 3.5.

Despite the result, all players enjoyed the match and look forward to the return leg on 1st July. On Tuesday, the Seniors hosted Churston on a breezy but.
