Hundreds of mourners gathered for a poignant tribute to a 16-year-old boy who tragically died after being struck by a falling tree. Kamil Hubert-Ziolko was reportedly working at a derelict house on Rotherham Baulk, on the South Yorkshire border, when he was hit by a falling tree at 11.21am on June 15.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Kamil was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival, just a day after completing his GCSEs. Today, Saturday, June 22, hundreds of heartbroken family members and friends gathered at Pit Field in Carlton to honour Kamil's memory. Many there wore blue and dozens of balloons were released as a touching tribute to the youngster, reports Nottinghamshire Live .

I always thought he was a nice, quiet boy. "Over £9,000 has been raised for his family and although not everyone in Carlton may get along, everybody has come together for this young boy.

" Alex Hayes, 17, a school friend of Kamil's, had known him for five years. He said: "He was sound, there was nothing wrong with him." He also commended the community's "brilliant response" and the support offered to Kamil's family.
