DOIREANN Garrihy got choked up as she revealed she had a "gut feeling" to begin a new chapter after her RTE 2FM exit. The 32-year-old revealed earlier this month that she's leaving the 2FM Breakfast Show after five years. Following a five year stint on morning radio, Doireann will have her final show with Donnacha O’Callaghan and Carl Mullan this Friday, May 31, at 6am until 9am.

The move to leave the station comes in a bid to allow for her podcasts to flourish while also being able to prioritise her wedding to Mark Mehigan. The Castleknock native's fans still get to tune in and listen to her every week on the new season of her podcast Doireann and Friends . Doireann took a few moments at the start of this week's podcast episode to open up about her feelings before her last day on air.

The Dublin beauty said: "I haven't thought about what it's going to be like not working with Donncha and Carl every day anymore. "I don't want to go there because there's nothing worse than a blubbering radio presenter so I'm going to try my best to hold it together on Friday. "Thank you to anyone who's listening who's been on the radio journey with me.

I'm going to miss you so much. The listeners are what makes it." Doireann got choked up while thanking her loyal listeners.

She said: "Ah...

I'm getting emotional. The listeners are what makes it and..

. I'm such a loser half crying on my own here. "It's been, through thick and thin, just the best experience.

" Doireann explained her "gut feelin.
