Get ready for the June 8 Cayuga County Residential Tire Collection Event! Hosted from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Natural Resource Center, 7413 County House Road, Sennett, this is your chance to responsibly dispose of old tires cluttering your space.
No need for preregistration! Here's the deal: Each tire up to 30 inches in diameter will cost just $2 to drop off, while larger ones between 31 and 36 inches will be $5 each. Tires larger than 36 inches will not be accepted at this event. Passenger car and pickup truck tires, with or without rims, are welcome.
Remember: This event is exclusive to Cayuga County residents, with a cap of 40 tires per household and vehicle. Proof of residency will be required upon arrival, so make sure you have your driver's license or other form of identification on hand. To keep things moving smoothly, please come prepared with the number of your tires and sufficient cash.
If you prefer paying by check, make it out to the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District. A dedicated team of volunteers and staff will be on site to assist with unloading tires from your vehicle. Please also bring your tires in reasonably clean condition — give them a quick hose-down before delivery, if necessary.
This initiative is made possible by the joint efforts of Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County, Nucor Steel of Auburn and the Cayuga County Department of Planning and Economic Development. By participat.
