There's said to have been some unexpected guests behind-the-scenes on EastEnders ' £87 million set in Hertfordshire. It's been reported that the BBC called in pest control after rats were believed to have begun nesting in the show's prop room floor. The rodents are said to have feasted on props prior to specialists tackling the apparent issue.

The broadcaster is understood to have denied that there's an "infestation" though. It however has acknowledged that there has been some uninvited visitors at the location on an "odd occasion," prompting specialist assistance. According to the Sun , a report, seemingly from pest control, read: "Attended site for call-out due to reported rat activity in the EastEnders prop store mezzanine floor.



A thorough visual inspection was carried out showing chewed products/nesting material." A source told the outlet: "EastEnders has always tried to represent London and that's become a little too true with an outbreak of rats. No one wants to see rodents at work and they have been causing a headache by chewing props and leaving droppings everywhere.

" However, it's been suggested that those frequenting Walford's pub wouldn't have noticed, as the rodents reportedly hadn't reached that set. The source continued: "Thankfully none have made it into the Queen Vic - yet." Despite the claims, the BBC show has denied there being an "infestation" of the rodents running around on the Albert Square set, but conceded that "specialists" have been called in to ha.
