Two Duncan artists will showcase their work in an Oklahoma art gallery this summer. A partnership with Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition brought the 2024 OVAC Members Show to Oklahoma City. The show opened June 22 in the Tulsa World — Lorton Family Gallery at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum.

Duncan artists Eve Cornejo and Krystal Solis joined 48 other Oklahoma artists to showcase pieces in the OVAC Members Show. Both artists will highlight oil art pieces. Cornejo said she’s proud to be part of the OVAC Member Show.



“I am especially excited because two of my paintings were selected for this exhibit,” Cornejo said. “Both pieces were completed in the style of realism and depict nature in its beauty.” With one of her pieces especially close to her heart, Cornejo said it shows the beauty of Oklahoma.

“It emulates the magnificent sky we see in Oklahoma with gorgeous clouds,” she said. “This piece is called ‘Oklahoma Skies.’” Cornejo said a lot of her artwork is inspired by her observations and experiences.

“Water lilies were an initial inspiration for my second piece ‘Into the Blue,’ but it eventually became more than that,” Cornejo said. Cornejo said the art exhibit is full of diversity. Solis said to have her work displayed in this historical space is a wonderful opportunity and a great way to connect with other artists and expose her work.
