ST. JOHN, IN — Dr. Jerome “Jerry” Edward March, age 90 of St.
John, IN, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024. Jerome was born on May 12, 1934, in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Edward and Mary Marchitelli. He graduated from Stella Niagara High School and Syracuse University.
He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Jerome met his beloved wife, Bonnie (nee Earle) while living in Chicago. They were married on July 11, 1964, and enjoyed over 57 years together until her passing on February 2, 2022.
Together they had two beautiful children, Scott Edward Earle (Neng) March of St. John, IN and Kimberly Joy Muntean aka “Muffle” (nee March) of Munster, IN. He was blessed with two amazing grandsons, Ryan Edward and Adam Joseph Muntean, both of Munster, IN.
He was so proud of “his boys” and enjoyed making many wonderful memories with them growing up. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Darin; brother-in-law, Robert Darin; and nephew, Kenneth Barry Darin. He leaves behind two dear nephews: Robert “Bobby” Darin (Shirley) of Grand Island, NY, and William “Billy” Darin (Marge) of East Amherst, NY.
His brother-in-law, George Earle (Joyce) of Clare, MI; and sister-in-law, Susan Poole of Jackson, MI; along with many other dear nieces and nephews. Jerry opened his private medical practice, Dyer Medical Center, in Dyer, IN, where he treated patients for over 50 years, many becoming his .
