More info Denise Nolan has married her long-term partner Tom Anderson after almost five decades together in a romantic ceremony by the Blackpool Tower. Denise, who was a member of the girl band The Nolans , was surrounded by her nearest and dearest including her sisters Coleen, Linda, Anne and Maureen on June 17. The 72-year-old said she was still riding an emotional albeit tired wave when speaking on the day after exchanging her vows with Tom, 77, who was a resident drummer at the London Rooms.



"I had a fabulous day," she beamed. "But everyone's exhausted, we didn't get home until midnight. We danced our legs off all night!" "We've been together now for 47 years and we love each other," she told OK! Magazine .

She added: "We got engaged about 30 years ago, but we didn't think we needed the piece of paper to say that," she shared. "He's asked me to marry him a few times but usually when he's had a drink and is feeling sentimental! Then I mention it to him the next day and he runs a mile!" One significant factor that led the couple to marry was Tom's heartbreaking Parkinson's diagnosis in 2018. Denise, having endured her own family tragedies, understands deeply that the future is uncertain.
