It was a tough and long road for Borussia Dortmund towards the UEFA Champions League final, let's take a look at their journey to the final at Wembley Stadium. New Delhi: UEFA Champions League (UCL) this season has been a thrilling campaign where the fans witnessed some of the best European teams exiting the competition at the early stages. The German giants Bayern Munich were considered one of the favourites to reach the final, but instead it was their Der Klassiker rival Borussia Dortmund, who against all odds reached the final of the grandest stage of club football only for the third time in their history.

The last time they reached the final was back in 2013, and back then it was also played in the Wembley, making it a Der Klassiker final against their German rival Bayern Munich. It was a heart-breaking night for all the Dortmund fans as they fell short against their German rivals who lifted their fifth UCL cup. However this time around, the BVB fans have a lot to cheer about as the black and yellow army will be marching towards the Wembley yet again after 11 years.



Dortmund were prolific throughout the season and have played some beautiful football to defeat some of the certain contenders this season. Group of Death Dortmund were drawn into Group F that was considered as the Group of Death, a term given to a group involving high profile teams.
